One of the most famous landmarks in Hutchinson is the Kansas Cosmosphere which is a Smithsonian affiliate museum, and the Space Center, which is a world-renowned museum that showcases the history of space exploration. The museum houses an extensive collection of space artifacts, including spacecraft, spacesuits, and other equipment used by astronauts. It also has a state-of-the-art planetarium and several interactive exhibits that allow visitors to experience the wonders of space firsthand. Another popular attraction is the Salt Museum, which is located on the site of the Carey Salt Company. The town also hosts the NJCAA basketball tournament in March every year. Another huge attraction is the Kansas State Fair in September.
