Plains Bancshares, Inc. to acquire Harper and Anthony, KS branches from BancCentral, National Association

Plains, KS, Harper and Anthony, KS – Plains Bancshares, Inc, the parent company of The Plains State Bank announced today the execution of a definitive agreement under which Plains Bancshares will acquire the Harper and Anthony, KS branches of BancCentral, National Association “BancCentral”.

The Plains State Bank is a KS based, family-founded and predominately family-owned bank with $260 million in assets across their western and central Kansas locations. The Plains State Bank is focused on growth, most notably with their 2018 acquisition of Bank VI in Salina, KS, and recently opened branches in Hutchinson and Great Bend, KS. The Plains State Bank values local community talent and welcomes the management and team members in both communities to The Plains State Bank.

The transaction has been approved by each company’s board of directors and is expected to close in the Fall of 2022, subject to regulatory approvals and the satisfaction of customary closing conditions. Following completion of the transaction, The Plains State Bank is expected to have approximately $398 million in total bank assets.

Following approval of the transaction from regulatory bodies, The Plains State Bank plans to host customers and community members from Harper and Anthony in the Anthony branch community room for a meet and greet. Exact details to be announced.
